This ride takes you to the highest point of the volcano reachable by road bike. The ride offers very nice views of the volcano right from the beginning. In the beginning, the climb is very easy. But after you have passed Whakapapa Village and the beautiful castle-like Tongariro Hotel, the climb starts to get more difficult. Sometimes with double-digit gradients.
