Turn all of those old t-shirts in your closet into a memory blanket with this DIY sewing tutorial! I show you step-by-step how to stitch the t-shirts together, layer them with batting, and create a nice border around the outside. This project is slightly more advanced because of the extra layers and steps, but could still be done by a beginner! An alternate way to sew it: If you don’t want the edges to roll under when quilting, cut the batting to the size of the t-shirt top NOT including the border (so the batting won’t go all the way to the edges). After sewing the back on (28:09), turn the quilt right side out and use your hands to push the batting into the middle of the quilt through the opening and pin it in place with safety pins. That way, when the batting moves and stretches a little while quilting, it won’t cause the border to roll and look weird! 01:19 - Prepping the Shirts 05:31 - Supplies 06:25 - Apply Interfacing 08:45 - Square up 09:38 - Lay out design 09:52 - Pin & sew pairs together 15:28 - Pin & sew rows together 19:10 - Cut & sew 3" strips for the border 26:57 - Cut batting & backing to size 28:09 - Pin & sew all three layers together 31:33 - Turn right side out, close opening 33:25 - Quilt //WHAT I’M DRINKING: Cooper & Thief 2018 Pinot Noir (aged 75 days in a Brandy Barrel!) ❤ Please Drink Responsibly ❤ //WATCH NEXT: T-Shirt Blanket: • How to Sew a T-Shirt Blanket // Project fo...
