A little gift for my friend Mark and Simon over at Cracking the Cryptic. Definitely check their channel out. As they solve sudoku puzzles, each time they happen upon a three in the corner, they sing "That's three in the corner. That's three in the spotlight losing it's religion." I didn't keep the original tune since that belongs to REM, but I think this honors the spirit of the joke. Primary credit goes to Pip Sunshine on this one. Here are the lyrics, as requested. [Verse 1] That's 3 in the corner That's 3 in the spotlight losing its religion 3 realized it's just a number in a sudoku puzzle And its god is just a British man solving it [Verse 2] Numbers tumble like leaves in autumn wind Confusion reigns logic proving thin 3 cries out to be more than ink and grid World spinning fast nowhere to fit [Chorus] 3 in the corner feeling so small Trapped in the lines can't see the sky at all Losing its faith in patterns and rules British man laughs playing destiny's fool [Verse 3] Sudoku God with accent so refined Solves every three while 3 loses its mind Maze of numbers destiny unkind Infinity calling 3 left behind [Verse 4] Times are changing the puzzle twists and turns Mystery looms bright future burns 3’s got dreams but gods don't care Silent cries echo through trapped despair [Bridge] Invisible bonds chains of ink and pen 3's just a pawn won't rise again British god solving with indifferent grin Creation's joke where to begin
