Founder and Roastmaster Mike Perry shares the details of the long-running relationship between Klatch Coffee and the Lamastus family's Elida estate. Wilford Lamastus is an award-winning coffee producer, consistently achieving top results at the Best of Panama competition. Klatch Coffee was the first roaster to bring their coffee to the United States. The Elida family estate is more than 100 years old, with more than half the state located within the Volcán Barú National Park. The unique terroir (ultra-high altitude, rich volcanic soil, low nighttime temperatures, fog and mist during the dry season) yields exceptional Geisha and single origin coffee with intense flavor notes. Klatch Coffee is highlighting family-owned and operated producers responsible for some of the world’s best single origin and Geisha coffee.
