The Quran mentions many natural phenomena, using language that would have been understood by people in the 7th century. Yet those same expressions do not contract established findings of science. Bucaille was intrigued by these references and studied Arabic to understand them better. He found that going back to the dictionary meaning of the word revealed that the Quranic language was precise on matters as diverse as creation, astronomy and human reproduction. He also compared the language used in hadith as well as earlier scriptures like the Torah and Gospels and found that in contrast with the Quran, they were incompatible with modern scientific findings.
