Gwinnett County Officer Uses PIT Maneuver to End Chase with Wanted Suspect

(Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Gwinnett County, Georgia — On November 27, at approximately 7 p.m. Gwinnett Police Department was contacted by the Seneca Police Department in reference to Emmanuel Williams (20, Seneca, SC.) who was wanted for three counts of attempted murder out of their jurisdiction. Williams had shot three people, one of them a 1-year-old child. It was believed Williams was travelling to Gwinnett County. The use of intel and Flock cameras, the black sport utility vehicle Williams was believed to have been driving was located at Sugarloaf Parkway and North Brown Road. As the vehicle was exiting a nearby business, an officer got behind William’s vehicle and activated his blue lights to conduct a traffic stop. Williams suddenly crossed all lanes of traffic and started driving recklessly in an attempt to flee from officers. A short vehicle pursuit ensued reaching speeds of 80 mph. Williams approached the intersection Sugarloaf Parkway and Duluth Highway, where officers were waiting. As Williams was turning right onto Duluth Highway, an officer attempted a PIT maneuver to stop the pursuit. Due to the of the angle of the vehicles, the officer’s patrol car struck William’s vehicle in the driver’s side rear, causing him to lose control. Williams was quickly placed under arrest. Williams was transported to a local hospital to be checked for injuries. He was then taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.
