The ACOG promotes to women tubal ligation and salpingectomy (for birth control) as a way to reduce their risk of ovarian cancer but women are not informed of the primary reason why it reduces her risk. Tubal sterilization (tubal ligation) and salpingectomy can cause hormonal imbalances. When OBGYN doctors and medical organizations disseminate information to women and the public that tubal ligation and salpingectomy reduce the risk of ovarian cancer they need to explain why... Otherwise it becomes dissemination of omissions and misinformation.
