Utz Brands CEO Howard Friedman '92 on the His Career Path Through Leadership

Howard Friedman ’92 is the CEO of Utz Brands, a leader in the salty snack arena. He credits his own leadership skills to both his Dickinson education and his experience in the Army’s ROTC program while on campus. “When I talk to people, I tell them that I’m paid mostly to be a facilitator of people and making sure goals are achieved,” Friedman says of his leadership roles over the last two decades. “What matters is, are you conceptually open and curious and can you find a place where you feel like you can fit? I credit Dickinson quite a bit for [my] learning how to do that on a variety of topics with a variety of people.”
