Newcomer Gary Wilmot makes an appearance on The Bob Monkhouse Show, originally broadcast on Monday, 21st January, 1985. Now, when I tell you that, being a black comedian in the 80s, there's bound to be a bit of a racial element to this routine, you're not going to be surprised; I'm going to go out on a limb, though, and say it's absolutely not the angle you're expecting. It really doesn't tally with the nature of You and Me, which he was already presenting at this stage, but whatever. Cheap laughs at the expense of minority groups aside, there's no doubting Gary's talent, and he treats us to impressions of Norman Wisdom, Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, Stevie Wonder, Randy Crawford, and Andy Williams - those last few in an impressive musical style. A very entertaining and engaging performer, but I can't imagine he'd do too much of this material today. (If you're a copyright holder and have any objections, please feel free to contact me. Alternatively, I haven't monetised the video, so you're welcome to do so, and that way everybody wins.)
