Pretending to be fake, yet entirely real: this is the mission of this alternative girl pop group from Tokyo with 4 unique characters. The group name “FAKY” expresses their enthusiasm in aiming to paradoxically embody “realness” in the modern music scene by identifying themselves as “FAKY= fake-like"". Since their debut in 2013, they have accelerated their activities with the slogan, ”A world-class girl group"". Their music videos uploaded on YouTube were accessed by viewers from 120 countries and have been played more than 4 million times in total, attracting both domestic and international viewers. In June 2014, they announced a renewal of the group including changes in the members, and after almost 1 year on hiatus, they resumed activity as a four-member girl group. In addition to original members, Anna, Lil'Fang and Mikako, a new member from the US, Akina, joined. The girls’ characters, which stem from growing up in a different environment, gather in Tokyo to produce their music, not as ”J-POP”, but with a wider view of ”POP” based musicality.
