Islam - The Religion of Peace

The purpose of this video is to show how easy it is to find passages in the Qur'an and in hadiths that support the subjugation and execution of almost everybody on the face of the Earth. Thankfully very few Muslims uphold these practices or interpret the words literally, but the commands are there in the authentic sources. In answer to the dozens of comments claiming that "Zakat means charity for the poor", Qur'an 9.60 describes how zakat is to be distributed and includes the phrase "in the cause of Allah". Modern apologists say that this means building mosques and spreading awareness of Islam. But what do Islamic scholars say? Check out everyone's favourite classical guide to Sharia: "Reliance of the Traveller". It gives eight categories of recipients and it's true that most of them are very worthy and peaceful causes, but take a look at number seven on the list. Here's what Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri writes: "The seventh category is those fighting for Allah, meaning people engaged in Islamic military operations for whom no salary has been allotted in the army roster. They are given enough to suffice them for the operation, even if affluent; of weapons, mounts, clothing, and expenses." Gee, I guess that means zakat CAN fund warriors after all :) In answer to the dozens of comments claiming that Surah 9 verse 5 is about punishing a pagan tribe who broke a peace treaty"... that's not how Ibn Kathir interprets the verse. He explains that Muslims are to fight mushriks everywhere on Earth until “they will have no choice, but to die or embrace Islam”. SOURCE: http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?opti... In his book "The Battles of the Prophet" Ibn Kathir explains the context of Surah 9 verse 29. "Allah ordered the believers to prohibit the disbelievers from entering or coming near the sacred Mosque. The Quraysh thought that this would reduce their profits from trade. Therefore Allah compensated them and ordered them to fight the people of the Book until they embrace Islam or pay the Jizyah". It's a command to fight non-Muslims until they hand over their cash. It's Mafia-style extortion (with added humiliation) and has nothing to do with "self-defence".
