The red-tailed hawklet has been given a name - Malala. It means Survivor and that is very appropriate for the little hawklet! ♥ Christian Sasse & David Hancock & Pam from GROWLS were live at the nest today when this footage was recorded. To see closeups of the hawklet eating be sure to video Christian's video - it is amazing!    • Hawk in Eagle Nest AGAIN - Day 2   A parent flies in with a fish and Malala rushes over and mantles and claims it. The eaglet - Junior just watched as Malala chows down for the next 14 minutes pulling and tearing at the fish and eating as quickly as it could. Then Junior gets the remainder of the fish and finishes it off. Malala will do some wingercising afterwards. Malala should be fledging in about 10 days from now. Thank you for watching!
