Police release bodycam of shootout after 'high-risk traffic stop'

A man shot by police at an Oregon gas station on Saturday, September 20, did not cooperate with authorities in the moments leading up to the shooting, video released by Portland Police showed. #bodycam #police Bodycam footage shows police apprehending the 30-year-old suspect, named Bryan Velasco-Ruelas, at a gas station. Velasco-Ruelas can be seen reaching into his car, saying he is looking for his phone, before gunshots are heard. Police said they were responding to reports of a man threatening an employee at a service station with a firearm when they arrived at the scene. Officers administered aid to Velasco-Ruelas before he was taken to the hospital. Police were unharmed. The officers involved are on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues, which is standard procedure, according to official reports. Velasco-Ruelas was still being treated for non-life-threatening injuries as of October 4, the Portland Police said, and would be charged upon release from the hospital.
