Played on a DS, captured with 3dscapture.com/ds/order.html Biggest time loss was getting the absolute worst possible overworld RNG in the second half of world 8. Literally 1 in 2048 chance, and lost more than 10 seconds... :^| Two things in general: -landing on the flagpole backwards skips the animation of mario spinning around. Saves 5 seconds throughout the run -normal running speed is 3 pixels/frame and blue shell spinning speed is 2.75 pixels/frame (~90% speed) so I try to minimize the amount of time I'm spinning in the shell. You'll see me jumping around a lot and bouncing on enemies. I also use a glitch(?) that if you jump within the first few frames of landing, the double jump animation overrides the shell spinning animation and you keep all your speed. example at 13:25 Notes on the run: 1-1: no staircase jump 1-2: okay, messed up in the beginning and had to wait for the box 1-F: some sloppy movement in 1st room 5-1: very sloppy movement, had to wait for the snowball to pass 5-2: bonked on the short pipe jump 5-3: using my consistent setup for high 265 5-G: -if you bounce off the broozer on the staircase in the right way, you can load the higher broozer earlier and it will break the blocks earlier. I'll do an IL soon probably -missed the ground pound -setup in the elevator to get in the door as soon as possible. Doesn't save a lot of time but looks cool 8-1: fine 8-2: got stuck under water bug and had to wait 8-F: slower (but much safer) bowser jr. kill 8-3: tfw you lose time on the easiest level :( 8-4: I keep shell until 8-8 in this route 8-C: fine 8-5: bonked on ? box 8-6: very good, this is a hard level to do perfectly 8-7: sloppiness everywhere 8-8: usually I damage boost to lose the shell and get the star, but I accidentally got hit twice 8-F2: -backup strat because I got hit twice in 8-8 -triple jump during autoscroller skip to get enough height that I only need 1 walljump, not 3 8-Bowser: pretty clean
