Kristen P. Massimino, M.D. - Providence Breast Cancer Program

Dr. Massimino is a board certified surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Massimino completed a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Originally from western Pennsylvania, Dr. Massimino completed medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio followed by general surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. During residency, she completed a year of research in the Division of Surgical Oncology and was honored with the Department of Surgery Award for Outstanding Resident. Dr. Massimino’s clinical practice is focused on the multidisciplinary care of breast cancer patients. She is a clinical researcher interested in improving the quality of care and experience for cancer patients. She is an active member of the Portland Surgical Society, the Oregon Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. In her free time, Dr. Massimino enjoys running, swimming, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, two children and their border collie. “As a surgical oncologist, I fight cancer every day by performing operations and by educating patients and empowering them to make informed choices about their care.” -Dr. Kristen Massimino
