013: Wielding a Chainsaw! Big Garden Cleanup | Saving a 17th Century Scottish Farmhouse

Time to cut down the overgrown trees. There is a row of trees on the roadside which we assume have been planted to add some privacy from the road. 30+ years on they have grown taller than the house! As they are on the South side of the garden they block all the light, pretty much all year round. We don't like to intervene too much, but seeing as this is man-made and prevents the growth of anything else we have decided to cut them down to allow the light back in. We've also scraped back the gravel covering the ground so that we can turn the land into a small veg patch.
