Trap music, another subgenre of hip-hop that emerged from the Atlanta, Georgia, music scene and shared the drill sound's propensity for dark, slow atmospheres and a lyrical focus on the dangers of criminal activity, has had a strong influence on the subgenre. Thanks to singles like Chief Keef's "I Don't Like" in 2012, the drill scene moved from underground mixtapes to the mainstream in the mid-2010s. Major label hip-hop artists such as Kanye West and Drake later adopted and promoted the drill sound. Rappers quickly adopted the Chicago drill in other major American cities such as New York, giving birth to the Brooklyn drill. Some of its most successful outlets are outside the United States, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Australia. 14-year-old Luca's death is crazy. Back then. Luca, 14, was killed in Chicago, and rappers began shouting, "I'm smoking on this." Packed. New Yorkers started saying, "I'm smoking on this truck," to suggest they were smoking nice pot. They didn't realize a tuna pack was a 14-year-old boy who died until the boy's mother asked them to stop. New Yorkers learning about truck packs disrespects my son. It's crazy that Chicagoans disrespect the dead so much. Drill artists want to send my condolences to the father who just lost his son. I want to say rest in peace to those two young brothers that died. I'm starting to believe that part of the problem with our youth is that the ego is too big. How could you want to kill somebody and throw your life away over a social media post? One kid says something about another kid on Instagram or Facebook; that kid wants to get a gun and slay him. You'll start living your life when you realize that the streets are a myth. Differently, I swear. Black people on white-owned radio stations play the hyper-sexualized hyper-criminalized male. I asked advertisers to say I celebrate killing animals daily. Will you play them? Nope. I get daily songs about assaulting women and abusing kids. We can brand it for young black audiences if black people sing about it. I think there's money in showing these people to Americans. What gave them that idea? They said black artists know and create it. According to our surveys, it's what they want to hear. How can someone say, "I'm inspired to write a murder song"? Someone says, "I'd like to air it" or "I'll pay for it." People in the audience say, "I'd love to hear it as long as it's black guys," because even white people buy this type of rap music because we know who to listen to when we want to hear about killing. iTunes doesn't have everything. If you're going to hear black people celebrating killing black people, they have thousands of items to sell you. No censorship or cultural hypocrisy here. True: Black performers can't sing anything; some things will get them fired. Rick ross' trial is well-known. Rick Ross is our mammy. He's a lac entertainer in a white-created world and role. In a song celebrating drug dealing and killing blacks, he mentioned date rape, which sparked 100,000 petitions in 24 hours. A song. Relax. The president said this violates our brand standards. We're disappointed rick ross doesn't understand date rape. Wow, how convenient! Not their brand or values. Rick Ross deviated. He was hired to attract black customers who prefer black bait. Black bait is the sexualized, hyper-criminalized portrayal of black people in America. As long as he sang about what got him hired, he had a job at Reebok. He lost his job after mentioning other sensitivities. They don't need to change. We lied for profit. We own the companies, record labels, and advertisers and keep releasing them.
