Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko today took his door-to-door campaign to Isiolo South, where he was popularising his political outfit, the National Economic Development Party. During the grassroots outreach, Sonko and his team encountered a heartbreaking case of a woman battling kidney failure. According to the team, the woman has been spending more than KSh 3,000 every week traveling to Maua for dialysis treatment — a cost that has placed a heavy financial strain on her and her family. After assessing her condition, Sonko announced that his foundation would take over the case immediately. The former governor revealed that the patient will be airlifted to India for specialised treatment. She will travel alongside her donor and two recently recruited nurses from the Sonko Rescue Team. All travel arrangements, including visas and medical logistics, will be fully facilitated by the Sonko Rescue Team. Sonko stated that leadership is about taking action and standing with citizens during their most difficult moments.
