British Columbia is spectacularly beautiful. I had difficulty getting out of Vancouver on a freight train and I was concerned I wouldn't get to ride in Canada at all if I didn't make it simpler. So, that's what I did, I made it simpler by going to North Bend, B.C. If you look closely enough, you'll see a little girl waiving excitedly to me as a watched the train start to leave after dropping me off at a remote crossing. It was a beautiful ride right up until I hit Lytton, B.C. On June 29th, 2021, the highest temperature ever recorded in Canada occurred here, 121.3 degrees Fahrenheit. The next day, 90% of the town was destroyed by a fire. There is speculation it was started by a train.
