Week #3 HSFB: Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders at Lakewood Rangers (9/6/24)
The Kent Roosevelt rough Riders rode into First Federal Lakewood Stadium to face off against the Lakewood Rangers. It was a very soggy night at First Federal Lakewood Stadium. The Rangers struck fast in the first quarter but missed their extra point. This would allow the Rough Riders to take the lead on their first score. The teams traded possession throughout the first half, ultimately ending with a touchdown and putting the Rangers up 12-7. The Rough Riders took the lead with a 17 yard run by Junior Yahntae Smith. The Rangers would retake the lead on a safety after a HUGE punt that was downed on the 1 yard line. The Rangers would add a final score when Senior Avery Holt tossed the ball 15 yards as he was being hit to connect with Sophomore Riley Verderber. The Rangers take home the Win 21-13.
