Lyrics by Tetsu Nakahama (1898-1926) Song and Performance by Toshiyuki Tsuchitori (b. 1950) WARNING: Any copyrighted songs or images belong to their respective owners. This video was made entirely for entertainment purposes. A memorial song dedicated to Japanese anarchist Osugi Sakae, who along with his wife Noe Ito and his 6 years old nephew Soichi Tachibana, was extra-judicially killed by the Japanese military police in the confusion that followed the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. This event is known as the Amakasu Incident - named after Masahiko Amakasu, the IJA officer who was responsible for the killings. The song is based on the Ichiko High School dormitory song "Koumenyuru Oka no Uka no Ue" (On the Hill of Red Flame). Poets Jusaburo Ono, Eikichi Wada, Kichizo Henmi and others have said that the lyrics were likely written by Tetsu Nakahama (1898-1926), another Japanese anarchist.
