My First Crash at Snow Summit in 3 seasons! Muddy in the morning and Hero Dirt by afternoon. 10/1/23

This might be my last ride of the season. Its really hard for me to ride on the weekends due to the restaurant. The official closing day is Oct 8, 2023 but I dont know if I will be able to make it. I saw forecast for rain and made sure I was able to get someone to cover for me at the restaurant. I didnt realize how much it rained the day before. It was really muddy the first few laps. Infact Westridge was closed for most of the day. It didnt start off good, we had a very hard time clearing jumps becuase it was muddy and made the bike really slow. towards the afternoon the sun came out and most of the puddles were dried up. The dirt was amazing, they finally opened up Party Wave by the afternoon and we were finally able to hit the jumps. The wood features looked dry but apparently they were still wet. I slid on the wood wall and slammed my knee pretty hard. Its the same knee that I broke and tore my ACL and MCL in the past. I've also had 2 previous reconstruction knee surgeries so its prone to get reinjured. Luckily I was able to get up and do a few more laps. My knee was swollen pretty bad but I still had to work so when I got back home I took a shower and headed into the restaurant. I knew I wouldnt have time to eat so I already planned to do a 2 day fast. When I got home that night I iced my knee and it helped a lot.
