From an Indian point of view (pov), in this video I share five simple, everyday items. The list includes 5 everyday things i didn’t know i’d need until i moved to Finland and discovered how handy they are! These are not luxury buys or trends, but practical essential things that quietly become part of daily life once you experience Finnish weather, work culture, and routines and can be found in most households. In this video, I talk about: ✅ Ski pants and why they quietly become an everyday essential once winter really hits. When temperatures drop below –10°C, even simple errands like grocery shopping or commuting mean dressing properly, and ski pants suddenly make sense even if you are not going skiing. ✅ Indoor slippers and wool socks, used because of the strong Finnish tradition of taking shoes off indoors. From offices to homes, changing into indoor footwear is part of daily life, and wool socks in particular become incredibly useful during the long and cold winter months. ✅ Shoehorns, something I had never really seen or used back in India, but which are a surprisingly common and practical item in Finnish homes. Especially with sturdy winter boots, shoehorns make getting in and out of footwear easier and faster. ✅ Cloth bags, often given out at events, fairs, and workplaces, and why they turn out to be so practical to always have with you. They support sustainable habits and quickly become part of everyday routines, whether for grocery shopping or carrying things around the city. ✅ Moomin mugs, and how discovering Moomin culture became part of understanding everyday life in Finland. What first looks like something for children turns out to be a deeply loved cultural symbol shared across generations. ✅ Along the way, I share small cultural observations and personal moments of realisation. How these items slowly became normal for me over time, and how everyday life in Finland felt unfamiliar at first, but gradually started to make sense. Which of these items do you also use all the time? And if you live in Finland, what is one “normal” thing here that felt unusual to you at first? 👇 📌 Watch next: • Grocery Shopping in Finland 🇫🇮 | Vlog of S... 🔥 Shop our e-books: https://coupleofexpats.com/shop/ CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 1:19 Ski pants 2:40 Wool socks 4:02 Shoe horn 5:14 Moomin mug 7:14 Cloth bags 9:07 The end 🟢 LET’S CONNECT Website: https://www.coupleofexpats.com Instagram: / couple_of_expats TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/couple_of_expats #lifeinfinland #indiansinfinland #movingtofinland #finlandlife #expatlife
