Welcome to another MuggyWeld tutorial! In this video, we’ll show you how to solder a strong, clean seam between two copper pieces using the reliable Super Alloy 1 rod and flux. Whether you’re a metal artist, hobbyist, or professional, Super Alloy 1 offers excellent adhesion, fast melting, and works across a wide range of metals. Product Overview: Super Alloy 1 contains cadmium and melts at approximately 350°F, allowing quick heating—especially on thin metals. The solder comes in rod form, making seam running easier than with traditional wire or paste solder. Apply the flux to cold metal or after heating with a butane torch or heat gun; the flux promotes adhesion, seals pressurized systems, and changes color to indicate ideal soldering temperature. After soldering, rinse the joint with warm water to remove flux residue. For a hidden solder seam, apply flux and solder on one piece, heat, then add a bit more solder and flux to the other part, and heat again until the flux turns brown. This creates a smooth, clean joint preferred by metal artists. Super Alloy 1 is compatible with copper, brass, bronze, steel, and white metals like aluminum, pot metal, zinc diecast, pewter, zamak, and spelter. It also accepts powder coating and plating finishes. 🔔 If you found this video helpful, subscribe for more practical metal repair tutorials.
