Device: iPhone 13 (midnight) Quality: 4K, 24 frame rate During Easter to late May 2024, Bluestar received sixteen brand new double decker buses for use on the service 2 from Southampton to Fair Oak and the service 7 from Sholing to Lordshill. They were the first new buses delivered directly to Bluestar at the time since 2019 following the arrival of eight, now five, single decker E200 MMC buses. Said buses were Hampshire’s first ever air filtering buses following trials in late 2019 and early 2020. The double decker buses, called E400 MMC, replaced existing double decker buses such as E400 and Scania Omnicity on the 2, and sent the temporary double decker Volvo B7TL engines to the scrapyard, as well as steady withdrawal of the popular LX56 ETx plates to other bus companies on the 7. I think it was a good idea considering the age and how newer double decker buses have more facilities onboard and the absence of a centre doorway also helps too. I don’t mind a euro 6 engine every once in a while because they are good for the environment. Today’s video sees me onboard my favourite one of the 24 plate engines, Bluestar 1749 HJ24 KBK. It is the second oldest of the batch of sixteen behind sister engine Bluestar 1748 HJ24 KBF. But in this fifteen and a half minute video, we get into a bit of lost. But at least I can get home easier!, for now.
