Devi's Fall Pokhara | पातले छाँगो | Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave | Davis Fall to Gupteswar Cave Davi's Falls (Nepali: पाताले छाँगो) is a waterfall located at Pokhara in Kaski District, Nepal. The water forms an underground tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) long and runs 100 feet (30 m) below ground level. On 31 July 1961, a Swiss couple Davi went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered 3 days later in river Phusre with great effort. Her father wished to name it "Davi's falls" after her. Its Nepali name is Patale Chango, which means "underworld waterfall". Davis Fall in Pokhara is an extraordinary waterfall which creates a 500 feet long underground tunnel as it reaches its bottom. This tunnel has brought the fall its name, i.e. Patale Chango in the Nepalese language, which means "underground waterfall." Fed by Phewa Lake Dam, the waterfall is surrounded by abundant flora. A landmark of Pokhara, Devi's waterfall is a must-visit when in Nepal. Witness the grandeur of nature as you see this colossal fall struggling with rocks to set itself free. Devi's Waterfall/ Davis Waterfall is different from other falls in the country due to its natural phenomenon. It marks the point where the Pardi Khola stream disappears underground and leaves no clue of its existence. When the monsoons are at full power, the splashes of water against the boulders create a terrific site. This is one of the most visited places in Nepal. After exiting the tunnel, the water passes through a cave called Gupteshwor Mahadev or "cave beneath the ground". The Phewa Lake dam is the water source. The cave also acts as a tourism site because it has complex designs and people even forget the way inside the cave. A sacred cave that houses a Shiva Temple, the Gupteshwar Gufa is an experience by itself. Although dark and dingy, the caves are beautiful from inside and offer amazing views of the nearby waterfall. The Shivalinga inside the cave is said to bein the same condition since it was explored. This shrine is said to have certain healing powers which attracts a number of visitors throughout the year. Also known as Patale Chhango, this waterfall marks the point where the Pardi Khola stream vanishes underground. When the stream is at full bore after monsoon rains, the sound of the water plunging over the falls is deafening. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is very famous and incredible tourist place in Pokhara. It is considered as one of the most amazing and longest caves in Nepal. It is located close to Davi's Fall, the cave is said to be have been discovered in the 16th century. At the endpoint of this cave there is a waterfall which makes it mysterious. This cave is a good example of Nature's power. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) long and runs 100 feet below ground level. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave ( गुप्तेश्वर महादेव गुफा) is a cave located in Pokhara-17,Chhorepatan, Kaski district, opposite to Davis Fall, the water from Davis fall passes through this cave.
