Chrono Ark is an underrated roguelike deckbuilder with a strong narrative focus, party-based combat, and a structure that sets it apart from Slay the Spire. It mixes card-driven strategy with visual novel storytelling, unique combat mechanics like the Healing Gauge and Overload, and bosses that force you to rethink your team every run. Despite how well it’s designed, this one quietly flew under the radar. I tried this game last year thinking it was a simple deckbuilder, but it turned into something much deeper. I played it again this month and after experimenting with different party setups over 29 hours, I finally cleared my first loop. Yes this is a very hard game but the gameplay loop is very fun.
