Liquid Metal Reacts to Acid and It's INSANE 🧪

Watch the resuts of a LIVE chemistry experiment my students and I conducted in the laboratory together. We watched the FREAKY chemical reaction between Galinstan (a Liquid Metal alloy of gallium, indium, and tin) and an acid solution of copper (II) ions. The galinstan looks like mercury, but it's much safer to use. The reaction between gallium on the surface of each droplet with the copper ions produces substances on the surface. This lowers the surface tension of the galinstant droplet, which makes it spread out into the acid solution. Prepare to be amazed!
