10 years after the "The Office: An American Workplace" documentary aired, each member of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch has moved on with their lives. Jim Halpert, once the dashing salesman and later co-founder of a successful sports agency, became a CIA agent undercover overseas while Pam, back home, yearns for someone to love. Dwight, now single after splitting with Angela due to the untamed rage that came after becoming a vigilante superhero to protect his farm as well as Scranton, has now given up the cowl to settle down. Michael Scott, who's beloved Holly Flax has since passed away, has been in a state of depression for years, losing sight of himself, as well as those he loves, in the process. And the other people are doing other things. Robert California, who has since lost his mind, murders Stanley Hudson in cold blood after vowing to destroy every last member of the old Scranton branch for making money off of... poor people I guess? Hearing about the murder, Michael calls together his old partners, Jim and Dwight, to help. Jim, who thinks Robert has something to do with a local terrorist group he is infiltrating, comes home to find Pam unfaithful. Dwight, meanwhile, plans to find Robert and kill him, leaving destruction in his path if he must. And the other people come in at some point too I guess. lol I tried. I really did.
