Sky News host James Morrow says US Vice President JD Vance called out the United Kingdom in a speech to the European Union because the country is “straying so far” from being a liberal democracy. The UK Sentencing Council has resisted pressure from Prime Minister Keir Starmer to scrap ‘two-tier’ sentencing guidelines. UK Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said the guidelines discriminate against white men. “The other week there was that phenomenal speech that JD Vance gave at the European Union where he called out Britain, and he called out Europe, but he called out Britain in particular,” Mr Morrow said. “If America is going to try and defend liberal democracies and you want to be defended, you’ve got to act like a liberal democracy, and Britain has strayed so far … and now they’re torching them at a rate of knots.”
