Helping My Patient Quit Tobacco: A Nurse's Guide

NOEP, which is part of Texas Nurses Association/Foundation Provider Unit, wishes to thank the University of Texas College of Education's Department of Kinesiology and Health Education for their support in the production of this program. To equip registered nurses in all fields of practice with the knowledge and skills to appropriately address tobacco cessation and coach patients through quit attempts. The education will role model various scenarios of nurses and tobacco users, in an effort to encourage nurses to use evidence-based tobacco cessation strategies, as evidenced by the number of patients asked about tobacco use and provided with tobacco cessation education and support.
