Asics Kinsei Blast Shoe Review

I recently purchased a pair of Asics Kinsei Blast shoes in Black/Glow Yellow for the sole purpose of running, and this is my honest opinion on the shoes. Before purchasing the shoes I was looking all through youtube for reviews, and couldn't find any that were actually helpful. The few videos of people reviewing them didn't seem to give a clear cut answer on whether or not they are good for running , but instead say they are a more versatile shoe that can be used for training, the gym, running, or as a lifestyle sneaker. The shoe has a ton of technology mixed into it, but all this weight makes the shoes uncomfortable for running. The plastic plate and mix of gel, and cushion outsole make the running feel numb or muted. The upper layer of prime-knit is thick and gets extremely hot even on a cold winter day. There is not much breathability, which makes the shoe unsuitable for running. Overall, this shoe is definitely not a solid running shoe to have in your collection. If the knit upper was a little less thick and breathable, and the outsole was slightly less heavy, it would be an amazing shoe. The worse part about this shoes isn't so much the weight or outsole, but the upper prime knit. The upper gets so warm and hot inside that your literally dripping sweat. The shoe makes your feet sweat even more than a regular shoe which is just plain weird for a running shoe. If they revised the upper to wick away sweat, and not be as hot, then it might potentially be a great runner. If you're looking to buy this as a lifestyle sneaker, then you don't have to worry so much. In terms of sizing, they run true to size and I don't recommend sizing up or down unless you have a wide foot.
