December Sam's Club Haul: Feeding Two Adults on a Budget: Our Real Meals, Costs & Calories

Join us for a full week of meals on our quarter-acre urban homestead! In this video, we share everything my husband and I ate, how much each meal cost per plate, and the calorie count for every dish. We’re self-employed artists doing our best to eat well, stay healthy, and live without our means — all while Making It on a Quarter! December 3-9, 2025 Welcome to our urban homestead; my husband (Randy) and I (Yvonne) run a business out of our home and do our best to grow what we can on the quarter of an acre in southwestern Missouri that has been our home since 2013. My backyard garden has both traditional and raised beds. We typically keep rabbits and chickens as key contributors to our composting system. Building our soil has been a top priority since moving here, as when we started the top soil was mostly gravel with a layer of more gravel below that. We have dreams of a big homestead one day, with goats and all the good things. I believe in making the most of the here and now while watering the seeds of dreams, so join me on this adventure of learning what I can as best as I can!
