The Mighty Rhino: Natures Armored Tank

The rhinoceros is a large, powerful herbivore known for its thick, armor-like skin and distinctive horns. There are five species: the white, black, Indian, Javan, and Sumatran rhinos, found in Africa and Asia. Rhinos have poor eyesight but an excellent sense of smell and hearing. Despite their massive size, they can run up to 30–40 mph when threatened. They are generally solitary and spend much of their time grazing on grass or browsing leaves. Sadly, due to poaching for their horns and habitat loss, many rhino species are critically endangered.
