The Flamberge is a Dex-scaling Greatsword which comes with innate bleed buildup, and it's my favorite weapon in Elden Ring. Storm Blade is a medium range projectile ash of war which is fast and does a TON of damage. What happens when you combine the two-- and add Bloodflame Blade to the mix? Answer: You delete bosses from Elden Ring! ADDITIONAL NOTES: Link to build: https://er-build-planner.nyasu.busine... Credit to Build Plagiarizer from the official Elden Ring discord server for giving me the idea for this build (read: I stole this build and changed it slightly) What does Storm Blade scale with? - Ashes of War which shoot out a projectile of some kind (such as Storm Blade, Glintstone Pebble, Sacred Blade) use a special scaling for that projectile, aka Bullet. When the game calculates the damage from a hit with your actual weapon, it just takes into account the attack power of your weapon, regardless of your stats or the weapon's affinity. However, when calculating the damage of that Bullet, it takes into account the affinity of your weapon and your stats. Storm Blade is calculating its damage based on your Strength and Dex stats. It does also take into account the weapon's affinity, so you want to use an affinity that scales with those stats. In this case, we could use Quality which would technically be the most optimal affinity, but Quality sucks. Because of that, since the Flamberge scales best with Dex by default, and Storm Blade does want Dex, the Keen affinity was our best pick for this build. You can read more about Bullet Ash of War damage calculation here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17... How do I increase crit damage in Elden Ring? - I used the Lightning affinity on the Misericorde to maximize our crit damage, instead of using Keen. When you have a weapon doing Split Damage, which means it's doing more than one damage type (ie physical and lightning), you usually end up doing less damage per hit than if you had just a single damage type. This is because of the enemy's Defense stats (different from Damage Negation), which I won't explain here in detail. However, every attack has a number of Motion Values associated with it, which are % multipliers applied to various things from your weapon, including the attack power, stamina cost, poise damage, etc. For example, Lion's Claw has a Poise Damage MV of 600, meaning it does 600% of the weapon's base poise damage on hit. These apply to every attack and Ash of War you can use, and you can see the Motion Values for everything in this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... Your Backstabs and Ripostes also have Motion Values, and they're WAY higher than the other motion values your weapons use, because they're supposed to be critical hits which do a ton of damage. The thing is, because those crit MV's are so high, they make BOTH of an elemental weapon's damage types punch straight through an enemy's Defenses, meaning that Split Damage weapons will usually do SIGNIFICANTLY more damage on a crit than a single damage type weapon would. And so that is why I went with Lightning on the Misericorde instead of Keen. What does Bloodflame Blade scale with? - Weapon buff spells such as Bloodflame Blade, Electrify Armament, and Order's Blade all add an amount of damage to your weapon, and that will scale with the Incant Scaling on the Sacred Seal you use to cast them-- but ONLY the Incant Scaling added by your Faith stat! So when using weapon buffs spells, you generally want to pick a Seal that gets good Faith scaling, such as the Finger Seal or Godslayer's Seal. Using something like the Dragon Communion Seal is less optimal because that gets lower Faith scaling. What is Offsac? - Offsac, short for Offhand Sacred Order, is when you use the Sacred Order ash of war on a weapon in your left hand. This buff is bugged and so it increases ALL damage you do by 10% while it's active. This is very strong, but you can't two-hand your main weapon because that will clear the buff, so you need to keep it one-handed. What is DLC+? - If you kill the final boss of Elden Ring's DLC, then in all subsequent NG+ cycles, the health of ALL enemies in the DLC will be increased significantly. This lasts for EVERY NG+ you do after beating him!
