While the music has stopped for now, we will be Bach! In the meantime, here is a brief example of the beautiful music that will be heard again, soon! This is Javelin by the American composer Michael Torke as played by the Baylor Symphony under the direction of Graduate Orchestral Conducting student Matt Hagestuen and used with permission of the composer. One benefit of the partnership between the Waco Symphony and the Baylor School of Music is the Waco Symphony Intern Program, which allows highly talented University students to gain professional experience by playing with the Waco Symphony (and get paid to do so). This unique program has helped attract talented students to study at Baylor, which in turn has helped the Baylor Symphony achieve national recognition by winning first place in the prestigious American Prize four times in the last five years.
