06-14-2025 This Mercedes was towed in for not starting... Doesn't even try cranking over.! Going for the low hanging fruit first...and for a quick direction of diagnosis... Looking at a wiring diagram, I was able to find a simple location to test for a starter signal without having to access the starter itself directly, when it is not that accessible until the vehicle is lifted for ease of access. Had I not have a signal there.. then the diagnostic direction would have changed directions, as to why exactly, is there no signal at that point of testing. Example... Transmission range selector issue.. maybe a security immobilizer issue..? That's just a couple of possibilities out of many others that can keep a vehicle from not starting. As a time saver.. always go for the simplest low hanging fruit first. Which in this case.. the starter was that peach. :) Hope everyone liked and learned something from this.. Again..
