One Handed Hedden Knot

The Hedden Knot is a reliable Friction Hitch which is very easy to tie, and uses a Prusik Loop, which is commonly used to tie other friction hitch such as the Prusik, Klemheist and Autoblock. In this video, JRB demonstrates how to tie the Hedden Knot with only one hand, for potential use in emergency, self-recovery, self-rescue, injury and rescue situations where the climber only has the use of one hand. For precedent, consider that the one handed Bowline knot has been a long-standing "must-have" tool in the toolbox of sailors for purposes of water self rescue.
