This chard recipe is a real favourite and is even better when the chard, tomatoes and even onions and garlic are fresh from the garden. I recon “things to do with chard” is probably quite a common search term for people who grow their own vegetables. Along with the old “what to do with courgettes” because that’s always a problem too! But Chard is one of the most underrated vegetables around in my opinion. It’s easy to grow, seriously productive, you can grow it all year round and it tastes amazing… what’s not to love about it? This is first first in what will, inevitably become a whole series on Things to do with Chard because I have loads of uses up my sleeve. But I thought I’d start here. This is a recipe for Baked pasta shells with Chard and Mozzarella and its one of my absolute favourites. Can be a little bit of a faff but its so good. Mum and I had it for lunch when I filmed this but it makes a fantastic dinner and you can feed a lot of people on not much with it! Ingredients: Chard (stemmed and washed) A ball of Mozzarella Conchiglioni Pasta. ( https://amzn.to/3je36Rc ) Tomato Sauce: Onion Garlic Olive oil Tinned (or homegrown) tomatoes Salt White Sauce: Butter Plain Flour Milk Nutmeg Salt In this recipe i am using a mixture of Lucullus and Fordhook Giant Chard and the tomatoes in the sauce are Black Russian.
