Welcome to day 16 of my 25 Days of Jerry! Each day I will post some sort of Jerry goodness, whether it be a complete solo, rhythm part, transcription, or anything else I can think of. Today we've got a transcription of Jerry Garcia's guitar parts on "China Cat Sunflower" from August 27, 1972, at the benefit for Ken Kesey's Springfield Creamery. This show was officially released as "Sunshine Daydream." "China Cat Sunflower" was first performed by the Grateful Dead in January 1968. From then on it was played regularly through to October 1974. After the group's hiatus in 1975 "China Cat Sunflower" did not return to the repertoire until December 1977 for a single outing. It then disappeared again until February 1979 when it returned to a regular position in the repertoire. The final Grateful Dead performance of the song was in July 1995. From October 1969 onward "China Cat Sunflower" was nearly always performed in tandem with "I Know You Rider." 🔔 Subscribe for more free Jerry Garcia and other Grateful Dead related content: https://bit.ly/2t3TPQC 💰 Craig's Tip Jar: https://paypal.me/craigacree Share this video with a friend: • China Cat Sunflower (8/27/72) | Jerry Garc...
