Mt Kenya has always been politically astute. We use our numbers strategically and leverage them to ensure we are relevant and benefit from govt. We also use our numbers to protect ourselves and position our own into offices with influence. We have done this since independence. Today Jofri wants us to stop doing this - because he is hurting and angry with Ruto, for firing him as DP. Many would argue that from recent utterances of how he used to behave he deserved to be fired; but that’s neither here nor there. What is critical is that Jofri wants us to negotiate ourselves OUT OF POWER. Eg: Jofri hates Kindiki. This is despite the fact that Kindiki did not impeach him as he was neither in Parliament or Senate. This is also despite the fact that Kindiki accepted Jofri to become DP even though he won the election process for running mate before elections. (What do you think would have happened if MPs had voted for Jofri, then Ruto chose Kindiki? 🤦🏾♂️). Now Jofri now wants us to hate Kindiki. He calls him ‘YES SIR’. Does he want Kindiki to stop being ‘Yes Sir’ and also get impeached? Then what? He would want Kindiki to lose his DP position. He would want Mt Kenya to lose the DP position. Infact I actually believe Jofri would rather the DP slot was taken by ODM. If he does not have it, he would rather it went away from the region. This is also why even in the #unitedopposition Jofri is negotiating Mt Kenya out of the Presidency. He tells us the DP slot is NOT AS IMPORTANT, as slots in govt. Like seriously!!! We must go back to the days when it used to be said that ‘Ungitio Kirimu, Ndungitwara Mugikuyu’
