It's located on Mount Thawr, near Makkah, Saudi Arabia. According to Islamic tradition, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his close companion Abu Bakr (RA) sought refuge here during their perilous journey from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE. The Quraysh tribe, who opposed Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings, had issued a kill order against him. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Abu Bakr (RA) spent three days and nights hidden inside Ghar e Soor. The story recounts several miraculous events that protected them during this time. A spider web is said to have concealed the cave entrance, and a dove miraculously appeared at the opening, deterring the Quraysh from searching further.
