The salutation in Djaboué is a very special piece for me! It was the first movement of my first African Suite for recorder trio DJABOUÉ, and hence the first "African" piece I ever wrote. Matilda Zidkova is a highschool student from the Czech republic. She spends most of her time hiking, doing parkour, reading, solving a mathematical correspondence seminar, listening to music and playing the recorder. Matilda has been studying the recorder since she was 4 years old. She regularly goes to courses to deepen her knowledge about recorders. In 2023 and 2025 I had the honor to accompany her on the piano at my house concerts. My biggest thanks to Filip Białoskorski for the beautiful light, camera and editing and the idea of the "one shot" video! Es war der erste Satz meiner ersten Afrikanischen Suite, des Blockflötentrios DJABOUÉ, das ich 1992 für das Trio FLUTES EN BLOC komponiert habe, also meine erste "afrikanische" Komposition überhaupt! Matilda Zidkova ist eine Gymnasiastin aus der Tschechischen Republik. Sie wandert gerne, macht Parkour, liest, löst mathematische Rätsel, hört Musik und spielt Blockflöte. Matilda lernt Blockflöte, seit sie 4 Jahre alt ist. Sie nimmt regelmäßig an Kursen teil, um ihr Wissen über Blockflöten zu vertiefen. In 2023 und 2025 hatte ich die Ehre, sie auf meinen Hauskonzerten am Klavier zu begleiten.
