Music by www.bensound.com About The Works: Digbijayee Khatua Across Digbijayee's work, you will find the characteristic clean lines and bold, angular, graphic shapes of the hard-edge painting and paper cutting 3D technique. However, these are arranged to create the recognizable shapes of buildings. Whilst the locations span across the world, there is a simplicity to these everyday landmarks, that lends each a certain recognisability and familiarity. You will find that steps and staircases are particular recurring themes. Unlike his predecessors, these works are each, purposefully, a perfect beat off flawless. You may find small inconsistencies, such as a border slightly narrowing on one side, or a slightly less dense area of paint, each confirming that this is a unique and human creation. Likewise, you will find that some scenes have been chosen precisely for their imperfections, ‘Mind the Step’ particularly springs to mind. A refreshing development that is well suited to our current time, working against the availability of ‘perfected’ images that are commonly saturated into our everyday experiences. The magic of the works comes from knowing that each color, each line, has been painstakingly pressed onto the paper by the Artist. The architecture of each piece being built layer by layer paper cut and paste. Working with paper, Digbijayee recognizes the duality of strength and vulnerability of the material, a reflection of the human experience. #contemporaryart #contemporarydrawing #contemporarylivingzr #artnow #contemporarypainting #artcollection #artcollege #artchannel #artdocumentary #artvlog #indianartist #lalitkalaakademi #delhiartist
