2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA POV night drive, highway drive, launch control, 0-60 acceleration, exhaust sound, review. The OCTA is the most powerful variant of the Defender, positioned above the V8 model. It uses BMW’s 4.4L twin-turbo V8, making 626 hp, 590 lb-ft of torque. It’s the S68 engine, so a hot-V layout with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. With that monster under the hood, the OCTA will do 0 to 60 under 4 seconds. Transmission-wise, we still have an 8HP unit provided by ZF with a 2-speed transfer case, which obviously puts down the power to all 4 wheels. When it comes chassis, it’s a unibody construction with a fully independent suspension and unique to the OCTA is a “6D Dynamics” system. What it means is we have height-adjustable air springs and hydraulically cross linked adaptive dampers. There is no anti-roll bars, so that 6D setup relies on air springs and dampers to maybe not reduce, but combat pitch and roll. And I can already tell you, this system seems to be working pretty well, because the OCTA’s on road manners are much batter then I expected, but more on that when we get to the driving impressions. Also improved over the standard Defender are articulation and increased suspension travel so attacking those Whole Foods curbs will be much easier. Other changes include quicker steering, wider front and rear tracks, ride height raised by an inch, upgraded barking system with 6-piston front calipers, and 33-inch tires developed by Goodyear specific to the OCTA. Lastly, let’s talk about pricing. The OCTA is only available as a 4-door 110 model, with a starting price of $160,000 and you can get this thing up to $200,000 if you check all available options. Other SUVs to consider are a Defender V8, Mercedes G63 AMG, Ford Bronco Raptor, Range Rover, Ford Raptor R, Jeep Wrangler 392, Hummer EV. 00:00 - Exterior 00:25 - Interior (Front Seats) 03:48 - Interior (Backseat) 04:32 - Trunk 05:11 - Exterior 06:15 - Driving 08:35 - Highway 16:47 - Launch Control 16:57 - Driving Specs: Engine: 4.4L twin-turbo V8 | 626 hp | 590 lb-ft of torque Transmission: 8-speed automatic | 4WD Color: Faroe Green Price as tested: $167,800 #landrover #landroverdefender #defender #defenderocta #octa #review #pov #cars #offroad Follow me on Instagram and TikTok @tom.swiatek
