My Toyota Truck (1984 to 2002)

This is a brief history of my wonderful 1985 Toyota pickup truck. From 1984 until 2002, I drove it 256,168 miles, through every U.S. state in the Lower 48 and across much of Canada. I never let anyone else drive my truck and did almost all of the maintenance work myself. I garaged my beloved truck in 2003 and gave it to a friend several years later, but I believe it's still running strong. I bought another Toyota pickup in 2016: a new 4WD Tacoma, which I drove through 46 states in its first year. I like my new Tacoma but I sure miss my '85 longbed pickup! I posted an earlier version of this video on YouTube in 2007 and it received over 50,000 views (with a 99% Like ratio). My 2007 video – like this one -- featured two songs, including "Pickup Man" by Joe Diffie, probably the best “truck song” ever written. In March 2020, I was saddened to learn that Joe had died of coronavirus and, as a tribute to him, I decided to remaster my 2007 video. I converted it to HD, added several more photos, put in some maps and inserted a brief video clip, then I reposted it. I don’t know if Joe Diffie ever watched my 2007 video, but I like to think that he did.
