In terms of design and function, I think they are closer to a true hiking backpack than a traditional travel pack, but they have a lot of features designed for use in travel situations - such as going through airports, bus stations, train stations and simply walking through urban area. I haven't had the chance to use the pack in the real world yet, but in this video I go over all the features of this new hybrid backpack from Osprey.
