More from the archives. This was purely filmed as an experiment, using a rather cheap digi-cam strapped to my head, while driving 37901 during a Thomas Event at the Llangollen Railway during 2007. This hopefully shows how the class 37/9s got their 'Slug' nicknames, the locos being incredibly slow to load up due to a choke that is fitted in the regulating air circuit from the drivers power controller to the engine governor. The train consisted of I think around seven or eight coaches, plus a Pannier tank loco on the rear. Apologies for the rather poor picture and sound quality, as I said, this was filmed with a rather cheap small digi-cam. Hopefully the content makes up for it. 21/10/2007.
