Date filmed: 6, 7, 9 and 11 December 2024 Time of recordings ================== 6th December 2024 - between 1200hrs to 1325hrs 7th December 2024 - between 0540hrs to 0900hrs 9th December 2024 - between 0640hrs to 0850hrs 11th December 2024 - between 1110hrs to 1250hrs Part 4.1 of the documentary. This 3-part documentary takes you through the process before, during, and after the EWL Partial Closure on 7th to 10th December 2024. The closure was planned to facilitate the connection between the future East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) to the mainline EWL, especially Reception Track 3A (RT3A) near Simei station. Expected to be completed by 2026 (initially planned for 2024 opening but got delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic), the ECID will boost rail efficiency and resilience, enhancing future journeys on the East-West Line, Thomson-East Coast Line and Downtown Line. In the video, you would also get to see sneak peaks of the completed normal service tracks/reception tracks (some of which is already fully installed with cables & 3rd Rail), new Platform at Tanah Merah, and also some tracks within the ECID itself. If you want to read more information about the East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID), here is a link to the official LTA Factsheet that talks more about it: https://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltagov... The video will take you through train joyrides and pictures of the tracks and train services affected during this period. Let's break down each section of the video for clearer understanding and have a rough look at what is expected. Part 4.1 - Before EWL Partial Closure (6th December 2024): Enjoy multiple train joyrides through Bedok to Simei, and between Tanah Merah and Expo stations, where you get to see some sneak peak of the tracks that leads into the future East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) and the connection of the tracks near Simei station. You will also get to see how far the progress is for the upcoming Tanah Merah Modification Project (TNMP) where it is expected that Tanah Merah will have a new Eastbound Platform, with the current Eastbound platform being retrofitted for CGL usage from 2025 (likely completion year) onwards which will eventually be part of the Thomson-East Coast Line, with works planned to convert CGL to TEL beginning in 2025 too. The TNMP is expected to reduce congestions for passengers heading to the Airport by having 2 platforms serve CGL, something similar to the Jurong East Modification Project (JEMP) in 2010.
