Edward Taylor plays Blair: Allegro Grandioso from 'Two pieces'

Hugh Blair was a chorister and later Organist at Worcester Cathedral. He wrote a number of choral and organ works; his canticles in B minor being of particular note. This piece, the second of two dedicated to 'my friend Miss Frances Palmer', is a grand and stately piece, more like a March than anything, yet quite short and not overly developed as a piece. Despite this, it has a good feeling to it, with some interesting harmonies and is certainly useful as a weekday evensong postlude or even a Town hall style organ recital opener.
